Writing Center Read-Ahead Service

Did you know that you can send a draft to a Writing Center grad tutor in advance of a consultation?

The Writing Center offers free, one-on-one consultations with writers in all disciplines, at any stage of the writing process--from planning a paper in advance to revising a completed manuscript. If you are a graduate student working on a longer piece of writing or a senior working on a senior thesis, consider using our read-ahead service so that your writing consultant can read and make notes on your draft in preparation for your appointment.

To use this service, simply follow these steps.

1.) Schedule your appointment using our online appointment scheduler.

2.) At least 48 hours in advance of your appointment, submit your read-ahead with instructions for your tutor using our read-ahead submission form.

3.) Come to the Writing Center in 203 Coleman-Morse at the time of your scheduled appointment and discuss next steps in your writing project with your writing consultant,
