Do you know how to market your fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction? Like a cover letter for a job application, a query letter is an essential part of getting your creative work published. Whether you want to submit a novel manuscript to a literary agent or publishing house, or you'd just like to send a short poem or two to a magazine, a professional and engaging query letter is always the first step.
Come to a short workshop on Sunday, November 13th, at 2:00pm in the University Writing Center, and learn how to create a query letter that will present the best side of both you and your work to potential publishers. Betsy Cornwell, a second-year MFA student in creative writing and a Writing Center tutor, will lead the workshop, answer questions, and provide resources to help you find venues for publication. We hope you'll join us in learning about this important tool to making a life as a creative writer!
